I have been home for a week now and the thoughts still linger in my mind. From the size of the Redwoods, to the openness of the Central Valley, to the vineyards of Napa Valley. The bussle of San Francisco to the romantic shores of Monterey. It was a fantastic trip and I couldn’t have ask for a better travel partner in this adventure.
I will press the photo app on my phone and scroll thru the photos recalling each day with fondness. Then I will open the file on the computer and scroll thru the photos downloaded from the camera. The memories of the trip are of such joy, not that I went to California but with whom I went to California with. The snapshots bring a smile to my face. Ntozake Shange is quoted with saying “Where there is a woman there is magic.” And yes, to have Laurel with me was magic.
As my title stated “I never wanted to go to California.” Now after I have been to California I am looking forward to my next opportunity to return. The Bay area was beautiful and I still have more to explored. Over the up coming months and years, we will be traveling to North Carolina to dip our toes in the Atlantic Ocean, Nashville for another conference, and touring the back roads of Minnesota and Wisconsin. I am glad to have my travel friend with me. Thank you to all of you for being along with us on our adventure.
