Over the past few years I have taken on getting a little healthier. One of the things I did was take up running. Back in 2009 before I turned 50, I ran my first 5k race and that same day I made the decision I would run my first half marathon. So I signed up and completed my first half marathon 25 days before my 50th birthday. Since that day I have encouraged others to run their first race. The one thing I quickly learned was these races were to raise funds for a great cause. The YMCA, community programs or other youth support. I always told others this was a fund raiser of a great cause and choose your run to support a great community cause. Remember…If you choose to support PETA make sure you know which PETA you are supporting. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals or People Eating Tasty Animals. There is no greater joy than watching others take up an effort in helping others. Today, me and my daughter, Beth, ran The Color Dash 5k in Menomonie. The organization that benefited was the MTG (Mabel Tainter Theater Guild). This is a great organization in Menomonie and they put on plays at the Mabel Tainter Theater. I just saw on the internet this theater was one of the 15 most beautiful theaters in America.
